The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (SHA) has implemented the
one-way eastbound-only traffic pattern along MD 769C (Quincy Street) between 48th Street to the Evergreen Cemetery to retrofit a shared use path for pedestrians and bicyclists. The key feature of the retrofit is green and yellow barrier separating vehicles and the shared use path. SHA is monitoring the corridor and will continue to refine and improve the implementation.

The purpose of this project is to provide context-driven corridor improvements to enhance pedestrian and bicyclist safety along the corridor including providing a protected path and connection to
Bladensburg Elementary School.
