No Mow April
Bladensburg celebrates No Mow April as an eco-conscious initiative to promote sustainable landscaping practices and support biodiversity. During this month, residents and the community are encouraged to refrain from mowing their lawns in order to allow wildflowers, native plants, and grasses to grow freely.

The purpose of No Mow April is to create a habitat-friendly environment that benefits pollinators, such as bees and butterflies, as well as other wildlife. By allowing the natural growth of vegetation, Bladensburg aims to provide food and shelter for these important species, supporting biodiversity and ecological balance.

Additionally, No Mow April serves as an educational opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of reducing pesticide use, conserving water, and embracing sustainable landscaping practices. It encourages residents to embrace a more natural and environmentally-friendly approach to lawn care. By participating, Bladensburg contributes to the overall health and wellbeing of the local ecosystem. It is a collective effort to create a greener and more sustainable community, one lawn at a time.
